Introducing the Simple Self Care Club: Because Self-Care Is Better With Community

Introducing the Simple Self Care Club: Because Self-Care Is Better With Community

You don't have to figure everything out by yourself. But you do have to participate in your own progress.

If you've been following my Simple Self Care blogs, you already know that I believe healthy hair, healthy skin, and healthy nails have more to do with what we consistently do at home than what happens during an appointment.

I've spent time educating you about products, routines, maintenance, and realistic expectations. But there's something I've wanted to create for a while: a smaller, more intentional place where those conversations can continue, not just between you and me, but between all of us.

That's why I created the Simple Self Care Club on BAND!

So, What Is the Simple Self Care Club?

It's a community for people who want to become more intentional and consistent with their personal self-care habits.

Maybe you've purchased skincare products but struggle to use them consistently. Maybe you're growing out your natural nails, trying to manage hyperpigmentation time, or money.

Whatever your goals, chances are someone else is working through something similar.

The Simple Self Care Club is a place to share those experiences, ask questions, exchange ideas, celebrate progress, and hold ourselves accountable.

You don't have to be a CurlSpa client to participate, and you don't have to be an expert to contribute.

It's a Community, Not a 24/7 Consultation Service

I want to be clear about something from the beginning.

This group is not a direct, around-the-clock connection to me.

While I'll be participating, sharing educational resources, starting conversations, and occasionally answering questions, I'm not going to be the only voice in the room. And that's intentional.

I don't want to create another space where everyone waits for me to provide all the answers.

I want you to learn from one another.

Sometimes the most helpful thing isn't another professional recommendation. Sometimes it's hearing how someone else managed to stick with their wash-day schedule, remembered to apply sunscreen every morning, or finally stopped biting their nails.

We can learn a lot from each other's experiences.

Of course, everyone's hair, skin, nails, and circumstances are different. Personal experiences are valuable, but they aren't a replacement for individualized professional guidance.

For questions about your specific services, appointments, or personal treatment needs, please continue using the appropriate CurlSpa communication and booking channels.

Accountability Without Perfection

One of the biggest things I want us to work on is consistency.

We have a tendency to set ambitious goals, purchase everything we think we need, get excited for a week or two, and then gradually fall back into our old habits.

Sound familiar?

I don't believe the answer is always another product, a more complicated routine, or starting over every Monday.

Sometimes we need to simplify our expectations and pay closer attention to our behavior.

Instead of asking, "What's the best product for my hair?" maybe we should start asking, "Am I consistently using the products I already own?"

Instead of buying another skincare serum, maybe our first goal should be washing our face every evening for 30 days.

And instead of waiting until we have a whole day available for self-care, maybe we should start scheduling smaller, manageable activities into our regular routines.

Consistency is your superpower.

This group is about encouraging those small changes and recognizing that progress doesn't have to be dramatic to be meaningful.

What Can You Expect Inside the Group?

We'll focus on conversations and activities that help us make self-care part of our everyday lives.

Some of our topics will include:

  • Curls of Course: Understanding YOUR hair, curl pattern and porosity myth busting, styling tips and grace

  • Skincare: Understanding your skin type, appropriate products, and developing realistic routines appropriate for what you have going on

  • Natural nail care: Understanding various nail products, how the nail industry came to be what it is today and tips on natural nail care.

  • Planning and accountability: Using calendars, setting realistic goals, tracking habits, and making adjustments.

  • Community conversations: Asking questions, sharing what works, discussing challenges, and celebrating personal wins.

The BAND group will give us a place to discuss what we're learning and how we're applying it. Also it give me a place to post the Simple Self Care Blog articles.

You Have Something to Contribute

But there won't be an expectation that you check in every day or participate in every conversation.

If you aren't having any issues THATS FINE TOO.

Maybe you've discovered a way to make your morning routine easier. Maybe you're struggling with something and want to hear how other people approach it.

Maybe you've been consistently moisturizing your skin for two weeks and you're proud of yourself.

Share that!

Your experience might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

And remember, accountability isn't about judging someone for falling short. It's about encouraging each other to keep going, make adjustments, and take responsibility for our own progress.

Ready to Join Us?

The Simple Self Care Club is hosted on BAND, a community platform that allows us to keep our conversations organized and separate from the noise of traditional social media.

You can download the app here

Use Join Code: TFF-R4D-14

You can participate in discussions, respond to polls, ask questions, and connect with real people who are working toward their own ADULTING and self-care goals with the same coach as you.

Once you join, introduce yourself and tell us one self-care habit you'd like to improve.

It doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, I'd prefer that it wasn't.

Remember, beautiful is built between appointments.

See you in the club!
