Natural Nail Services at The CurlSpa
The CurlSpa provides quality natural nail services with the focus always being on maintaining and improving the health of your natural nails.
We do not use gel polish on toes for many reasons & understand that is common practice at most nail shops. The CurlSpa is not a nail shop and aims to do what is BEST for the health of your natural nails. If you have gel polish on your toes you will need to add gel polish removal to your appointment to be sure there is enough time to complete the service appropriately.
Did you know it takes approximately one whole year to grow a new toenail? This is why polish seems to last forever on toes and why I do not use a "long wear" product on toes. It is unnecessary and leads to damage because of improper removal techniques.
Because it is just me I am not able to offer "couple's pedicures". If you want to come in and have a pedicure with a friend you will go one after the other just like if I was cutting your hair. You will also want to wear or bring traditional flip flops. If your sandals (Burkenstocks) have a little lip on them or cover your toes I will not be able to polish with your shoes on.
I also provide foam sandals in the case you are not able to bring flip flops. Please exercise caution when wearing these.

IBX Nail Strengthening Treatment:
Have you ever removed gel polish or nail enhancements to find damage, lifted nails or annoying little white spots? This is often due to aggressive and inappropriate removal of product and unfortunately once the nail plate is damaged you CANNOT repair it. It must grow out. However while it is growing out you can strengthen those weakened areas and prevent further damage with IBX.
IBX is available as an add on with gel polish or as a stand alone treatment that includes basic nail maintenance (Strong & Naked Manicure).

The Traditional Pedicure
I perform pedicures using a non-plumbed lined pedicure basin. I do soak the feet in water for pedicures as this is an opportunity to relax the muscles in the feet, clean them and soften hardened calluses. I use a handmade foot soak solution of baking soda, unscented epsom salt and essential oils to relax and soothe achy foot muschles.
I cannot perform podiatry work. Meaning I cannot treat your ingrown toenails. I also am not able to treat anything. If you have a fungus, plantars warts, athletes foot or anything else contagious you are not able to have a service and you need to see a podiatrist or dermatologist if you are able to. If you are not here are some videos you may find helpful.
I do NOT use the cheese grater and neither should you. Being overly aggressive on calluses will only cause more growth. I use a stainless steele pedi paddle with a removable fine grit sticker that attaches to it to gently remove dead tissue.
