Hello CurlFriend!
September at The CurlSpa
Welcome to The CurlSpa, I'm so happy you found it! On this page you will find everything you need to know for what's happening at The CurlSpa this month.

Time to Get Back to Routine
September always feels like a reset.
The days are getting noticeably shorter. School is starting again. Professors are heading back to campus, parents are reorganizing family schedules, and young people are settling into new classes, activities, jobs, and routines.
My family is doing the same thing. Harmony is actually going in person this year!
And while fall can feel like a fresh start, it can also feel expensive. School supplies, clothes, activities, groceries, transportation—everything seems to need attention at the same time.
So this month, I just want you to think about maintenance.
Focus on staying on top of the basics.
Back-to-school season is a great time to take a look at your haircut—not because you need a dramatic transformation, but because a good shape can make your everyday styling much easier.
If you’ve spent the summer swimming, pulling your hair up, or simply avoiding the salon, your ends may be ready for some attention.
A haircut can help:
-
Remove ends that are making detangling more difficult
-
Restore shape to your overall look
-
Make wash day and styling more enjoyable
-
Give you a cleaner starting point for your fall routine
The goal is hair that works better for your actual life.
Summer usually means more sun, heat, sweat, travel, and sunscreen.
As we move into fall, this is a good time to check in with your skin care habits.
You may notice congestion, uneven tone, dryness, or areas of hyperpigmentation that became more noticeable over the summer. Or you may have just fallen out of routine do to summer activities.

September doesn’t have to mean immediately jumping into aggressive treatments.
Sometimes the best place start is getting back to your home care basics:
Cleanse. Moisturize. Protect. Repeat.
Yes, a professional facial gives us an opportunity to look at what your skin is doing and helps us create a plan going into fall. But if your home care is lacking what we do in the salon during a facial isn't going to make much difference.
Consistency first.
Correction second.
Pedicures tend to get treated like a "summer service".
I disagree of course.

Once the sandals go away, feet usually get ignored until something starts hurting.
Regular pedicures can help you stay on top of nail length, impacted nails and callus buildup.
Self care is head to toe inside and out. Take care of your feet all year because they carry you all year. Not just when people are potentially looking at them.
September Weekday Specials
Weekends are often the first appointments to fill.
If your schedule gives you some flexibility during the week, my monthly specials are available on weekdays and are designed to make it easier (and less expensive) to combine services into one visit.
Your September Self Care Assignment
Mom's this is important...turn you ears on
Get a Calendar and some fun pens. If you're really feeling fancy get yourself some stickers. I have some you can have just let me know in the notes of your appointment that you need stickers.

This needs to be a physical calendar. A wall calendar, a planner, a giant desk calendar whatever.
For September put on your calendar:
-
Your at home wash days - Moms this is a day you will need to shower
alone and possibly use all the hot water in the house. This frequency will be different for everyone. If you are a 2-3x a week curly then pick 1 day a month to take all the hot water.
- Your home facial days - This is the day you exfoliate and mask (done weekly)
- Your Self Care Appointments Like:

- Dentist Appointments
-
- Doctor Appointments
- Eye Exam
- Hair/Skin/Nails
- PUT THIS INFO ON THE CALENDAR - Consult with your partner (if you have one) so they understand the importance of this and can support you.
- Put the calendar somewhere you and everyone in your house can see it everyday.
- This is your commitment to yourself so don't overshoot it. Be real and start small 1 new habit at a time. Maybe you JUST get a calendar. That's fine. Just do that.
September is about getting back into a rhythm that you can actually maintain.
If you get a calendar, get home and immediately feel overwhelmed. Stop. You've done enough. Next month you can try adding things to the calendar.
I hope you've found this info helpful
See you soon!

Monthly Specials Menu
The CurlSpa is full service, meaning you are able to have hair, skin and nail services done in one appointment.
The Specials Menu is made up of a few services and packages from the main menu discounted 20-25% and it rotates monthly. Please take a scroll through the entire menu and use the links to read the descriptions. Reach out via text or email if you need clarity on the information provided.
All scheduling is done online
If there is a service you are looking for and you do not see it on my menu, I do not provide that service.
All availability is visible and the waitlist is only for the days I work (Wenesday-Sunday). If the system is not letting you make an appointment please try refreshing your browser and adjusting your cookie settings.
Please watch this before you leave your house to come to your appointment in case you run into traffic. This is important as the salon is not visible from the street, you cannot call me and I stand by my late/no show policy.
Try something new at a discount, but be sure to read how The CurlSpa /Groupon partnership works!
