Workshop 1 – The Wash and Natural Curl Set | WAG| Wash and GO

5 Learners | 3 Hours

In this hands-on workshop we will explain why the wash is the foundation of the curly cut. We will demonstrate how to properly cleanse, detangle, and style all curl types for max definition. 

Learning Goals

• Understand the importance of well detangled hair in relation to the curly cut
• Discuss product selection
• Demonstrate proper cleansing techniques for maximum curl definition
• Demonstrate proper styling product application
• Apply drying techniques that minimize frizz

Materials Included 

• 1 Curly Mannequin (to be returned)
• 1 Metal mannequin stand (to be returned)
• 1 Set of hair products (shampoo, conditioner, cream & foam)
• Workshop Notes

Additional Materials Required (to be provided by learners)

• Blow Dryer
• Diffuser

Basic KCHD 3 Part Series

Workshop 2 – The Curly Cut

5 Learners | 3 Hours

In this hands-on workshop we will review the role shrinkage plays in cutting curly hair and demonstrate how to work with it using basic cutting techniques to achieve our client’s desired results. Learners will practice their new skills on curly mannequins.

Learning Objectives

• Understand how to apply traditional haircutting techniques to curly hair 
• Demonstrate dry curly haircut using foundational haircutting techniques

Materials Required to be provided by learner:

• Shears
• Clips

Materials Included:

• Pivot Point Curly Mannequin (Can Keep it)
• Metal Stand (must be returned)

Workshop 3 – Color Formulation, Placement and the Stretched Twist Set

5 Learners | 5 Hours

In this hands-on workshop we will explain the importance of moisture retention, especially in tighter textures. We will demonstrate how to use protective styling techniques such as twists to achieve this. This workshop will offer a healthy styling alternative to both the learner and their client.

Learning Objectives

• Understand why we stretch the hair first
• Demonstrate Proper detangling & Sectioning for a speedy blow dry
• Explore Partings & Other design decisions
• Discuss Products -heat protectants, moisturizers and hold

Materials Included:

•  Pivot Point Curly Mannequin (must be returned)
• Metal Stand (must be returned)
• Heat protectant
• Styling products

Materials Required to be provided by learner

• Blow dryer
• Blow pick
• Sectioning clips (4-6)
• Tail Combs (2)
